First, Samsung introduced this year's Galaxy S24 lineup, consisting of three flagship devices: entry-level S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Lineup

The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event 2024 was a much-awaited event not only for Samsung fanboys but also for the overall tech community.

This latest lineup, which includes the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra, represents a leap forward in Samsung's smartphone technology, bringing improvements over the previous S23 series.

Galaxy S24

The entry-level model, the Galaxy S24, offers quality features and comes with a more affordable price tag than the S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra. 

It features a 6.2-inch FHD+ display consisting of a dynamic resolution of up to 120Hz. This display ensures fluid visuals and a highly responsive user experience.

This entry-level model comes with the same camera setup as the S24 Plus, which includes a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP wide lens with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and a 10MP telephoto lens. This trio of cameras offers versatility for photography enthusiasts.

Regarding memory, the Galaxy S24 comes with 8GB of RAM and provides you two storage options: 128GB and 256GB. 

It has a large 4,000 mAh battery that is fast charging supported and capable of reaching up to 50% charge in approximately 30 minutes with a 25W adapter, as claimed by Samsung. 

The S24 is available in a range of attractive colours, including:

Galaxy S24 Plus

It has a slightly larger 6.7-inch QHD+ dynamic display and shares the same 120Hz dynamic refresh rate as the Ultra model. The camera configuration on the S24 Plus is a notch above the base model, consisting of:

Galaxy S24 Ultra

With the most advanced features, the king of this year's S24 lineup is again the Ultra model, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It is powered by the cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, which is adept at efficient AI processing and capable of delivering enhanced experiences with 240fps and improved ray-tracing capabilities.

This beast comes with a robust 6.8-inch QHD+ AMOLED 2X display, which supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

The camera configuration of the S24 Ultra took all the limelight. It includes:

• 12MP front camera and a rear quad-camera array
• 2MP Ultra-Wide lens
• 200MP Wide lens with OIS
• 50MP Telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom
• 10MP Telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom

Also, Samsung has enhanced the low-light photography ability with larger pixel sizes and improved the Nithography feature.

If we talk about the battery, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra packs a 5,000 mAh battery with fast-charging capabilities. When it comes to storage, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options are available, paired with a standard 12GB of RAM. 

The S24 Ultra colours include:

• Titanium Black
• Titanium Violet

• Titanium Orange

These models were in itself not a major upgrade by Samsung in any department. The features are more or less the same as the previous year, with slightly enhanced performance. However, what makes this year's unpacked special is the inclusion of AI features into the Samsung phones. 

Samsung has also collaborated with Google to make the experience seamless and bring their users the best in terms of AI.

Samsung S24 Pricing

The pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series in Australia varies as per the model and storage option. These pricing options cater to different user preferences and needs.

The base model, the Galaxy S24, starts at AU$1,399 for the 128GB storage option. It is the most affordable option in the whole lineup. If you need more storage, the 256GB variant is available at AU$1,499, allowing for greater data and app management flexibility.

Moving up the range, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus begins at AU$1,699 for the 256GB model. There is no 128GB version available for S24 Plus. But if you need even more space, the 512GB variant is priced at AU$1,899, ideal for power users and those who prioritize extensive storage.

The beast, Galaxy S24 Ultra, starts at AU$2,199 for the 256GB version. For professional users like photography enthusiasts who store a lot of data on their devices, the 512GB model is available at AU$2,399. Lastly, the top-tier 1TB option is priced at AU$2,599.

Galaxy AI&

Some of the things for which you had to use AI tools like ChatGPT can now be easily done directly on your Samsung.

The Galaxy AI introduced a new "intelligent text and call translations" feature through its Live Translate function. This incredible feature allows you to translate 13 languages in real-time during texts or call conversations. This feature is a game changer because it offers seamless and instant translation without the need to download a third-party application. So no more language barriers during conversations.

Another remarkable feature Galaxy AI introduced is Chat Assist, which ensures that text messages convey the intended tone. Google Gemini

Another innovative feature Samsung introduced this year with the Galaxy S24 series is 'Circle to Search'.

Towards the end of the unpacked event, Samsung also unveiled a smart AI wearable device called Galaxy Ring.

Rumors suggest that it is a health-tracking wearable designed to seamlessly integrate with your daily life. It also offers advanced monitoring capabilities. 

Although its official release date is yet to be announced, it seems to be an exciting innovation in wearable technology.
